Telah dilakukan penelitian uji aktivitas antibakteri dari minyak atsiri daun ketepeng cina (Senna alata (L.) Roxb) terhadap bakteri penyebab penyakit kulit. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 38954, dan Propionibacterium acne. Hasil destilasi uap air dari daun Senna alata diperoleh rendemen sebesar 0,125% (v/b). Pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan konsentrasi 25% 20% 15% 10%  dan 5% dari hasil pengamatan diperoleh diameter hambat rata-rata dari bakteri Staphylococcus aureus sebesar 17.46 mm, 15.43 mm, 13.53 mm, 12.16 mm dan 10.36 mm. Staphylococcus epidermidis sebesar 19.36 mm, 17.47 mm, 15.37 mm, 13.73 mm, dan 11.53 mm. Propionibacterium acne of 18.50 mm, 16.40 mm, 14.36 mm, 12.70 mm, 10.67 mm. Analisis Kromatografi Gas – Spektrometer Massa QP2010S SHIMADZU menunjukkan bahwa komponen kimia dengan kandungan terbesar pada minyak atsiri daun ketepeng cina adalah 1,8 Cineole (48.97%); α- Pinene (24.96%); 1,4 Cyclohexadine (9.53%); Trans- β- Ocimene (7.48%) and P-Cymene (4.53%).</note>
